What is a good bed time for a 7 year old??

My boys go to bed at 9:00 on school nights 10:00 on weekends. Think there getting enough sleep. They wake up at 7:00am full of energy ready for school.

  • My youngest turns 7 in 3 weeks. His bedtime is between 8-830 pm now that days are longer, and he gets up for school at 7:30 am. He has to be woken up for it.

  • We've always had a badtime of 8:30, but we have to be awake at 6:15 - 6:30 and out the door by 7:15.
On the weekends and no where to go the next morning - bedtime is 10:30 - 11.

  • I have a 7 year old. According to her dr she says she needs at least 10-12 hours. So i send her to bed any where between 8-830 and she is usually sleep within mins. And she has gotten so used to it that she will go to bed before i can say anything like

  • my 5 and 6 year olds go to bed about 7:30 and my 9 year old goes to bed at 8. I find it so much nicer when they get a long nights sleep. if they don't they seem to be crabby. I guess 9 isn't bad for yours because he wakes up at 7. my boy goes to bed at 8 and wakes up at 6 so its about the same time. my little ones just need more sleep. they both just turned 5 and 6 a little over a month ago. so i'm sure their going to be changing much like my oldest has. Im sure if your son is waking up on his own every morning he must be getting the rest that he needs. If its hard for him to wake up and hes more crabby during the day he may need a little more sleep. well good luck. i hope i helped you some. :)

  • My 7 yo goes to bed at 8 and gets up usually 6:30 or 7 (by himself.) If he doesn't sleep enough though he's a real pill and he'll get a nap midday if he's acting up because of it.

  • oh and on weekends. they pretty much go to sleep at the same times they do during the week. I can't make them stay up if i wanted to. Their just used to their bed times now. it sucks for me some time though.. i don't usually get to sleep in because they get up so early lol

  • My DD goes to bed by 8:30... up at 6:45.... out the door by 7:30. Seems to be enough sleep for her. I think each child is different. If you can wake them up with out to much fuss then your bed time is working... if it takes forever to roll them out of bed or they are cranky by bed time you might need to put them to bed earlier.

  • 10-12 hrs of sleep! We let 9 yo stay up until 9:00 on weekdays and 9:30 or 10:00 at the latest on weekends. It also depends on what time we got up that morning and how busy our day was. I would rather put him to bed earlier and have him get up earlier. I really think it also depends on your son, some kids just need more sleep:)
