Pregnant and coughing up a lung...

Anything I can take? I've been sucking on hard candy to help and drinking water but I keep going into coughing fits. Anything yall know of?

  • Best thing is natural stuff: Hot tea with lemon/honey is good. Hard candy MIGHT bring temporary relief, but ultimately the sugar in it is going to keep you from getting well and probably make your cough worse. Drink LOTS of water. Carry a water bottle around with you and take a sip every time you cough. You can put some lemon in it. Good luck!

  • Tablespoon of honey. Vicks on the soles of your feet, with socks on so it doesn't rub off all over ;). I know there are other "cough syrup" recipes using honey, vinegar, lemon juice, etc, but I cannot remember them - maybe google can help. Claritin is pregnancy safe, if it might be due to allergies/post nasal drip. Call your doc too.
