What do you think of my kids names?

Elizabeth Jing-Yu
Nathan Ling-Kai

They were adopted in 2002 and 2006 from China. Yu and Kia were from their birth names the other names were from us.

  • They are fine. Keeping the original names in there was good although I may have incorporated it into the english name that is used all the time or given another Chinese name to be used all the time.

  • Nonoluna- we considered doing it the other way around but we decided that the first name was our gift to them. Our way of bringing them into our culture and our family. We gave them a Chinese middle name of our choosing to reflect our feeling towards them and we kept their birth name out of respect to their heritage and to help in their transition We used all 3 names when addressing then for about a year. DD was 18 months and DS was almost 2 when they came home to us.
