  • I think it is a myth that there is any 100% fact when you are dealing with a child on the autism spectrum.... those special little bundles of joy come with their own individual rules.  You just need to roll with it and use that mommy intuition!

  • I think it's fine. My 2 year old did the same thing for about a month, and then went right back to sitting far away. She's probably just exploring her options and pushing the boundaries, so once she realizes it's not all that cool after all, she'll get over it. ;-) As long as she's not watching hours and hours of TV every day like that, I wouldn't be too concerned.

  • p.s.
    her eyesight as fine
she is three and a half
she is in autism spectrum (so odd things come and odd things go)

  • As long as her face isnt pressed up against it or like 1 or 2 foot from it whats the problem?

  • I heard it was not true, sitting close to the tv won't hurt her.
But I'm sure that was before flat screens and the new technology.

  • Myth. Don't worry about it.

  • I don't know in detail why it would be bad but I do know that TOO much T.V. is obviously not good for anyone and when I was a little girl my mom always told me I would hurt my eyes by sitting too close. I know what she means now because I tend to get headaches if I am not far enough away.

  • It's a myth. I was not allowed to sit close to the TV as a child and I now wear glasses. I allowed my children to sit close and the 3 adult children have no eyesight problems, although I do expect it in the future, as it is usually hereditary.
