When are babies able to handle gas better?

I remember it bothering my son at first, but can't remember when it started to not be a big deal to him anymore. Now he's 2 1/2 and thinks it's hilarious when he "toots". My 2 week old baby girl deals with gas pains a couple times within a 24hr period. It usually only lasts for 15-30mins at a time, but I feel bad for her. :[ You can see her wiggling and fussing until finally she's able to pass gas. This happens a few times before she finally is able to relax enough to sleep.

  • I think its sometime after 6 months, when they are eeating more solids, abd theyre sitting up on their own. The gas dosent build up as easily that way.
