Question about phasing children on to regular milk

Ok so if they normally drink a six ounce bottle would you start doing it one ounce milk and five ounces of formula right? Also do you add more milk to the mix every week or is it less then that?
It seems like before with his allergies they took a few days to show up but three days is a good space between changes right?

  • Don't mix. Just give a little in a sippy rather than formula.

  • We didnt mix, we just started on full milk, our pedi explained that the main issue with swapping over was whether or not the child would like the taste or not, he said to try it straight and if she didnt like it then to mix. We tried her with it and she loved it so it was just a straight switch.

  • We just went to regular milk at her one year appointment, which was actually a few days before her birthday. Doc gave us the ok, we finished out the can of formula the day before her birthday and starting filling her cup with whole milk. She didn't balk at the change, she loved it.

  • My son took an 8 ounce bottle, and the formula could only be mixed in 2oz at a time, so I did a week of 2oz milk/6oz formula, then the next week 4oz milk/4oz formula, next week 6oz milk/2oz formula. You could still do 1oz at a time if you put the extra 1oz in the fridge or discard it. I chose a week at a time, but 3 days sounds good too.
