Have you or a loved one experienced a natural disaster? tornado, hurricane, etc.

I'm watching the news and was curious.

  • I've lived on the Gulf Coast for 15 years. I've sat through about a dozen hurricanes.

  • Yes, when I lived in Ky. we lived through many devastating tornados. My SIL'S grandparents were killed during one of those tornados. They're very frightening!

  • A hurricane in Florida---no power or water for 5 days. Lots of trees down.SCARY.

  • Grew up with hurricanes - mild ones luckily, end of the run since we lived in NY. Had a couple of minor earthquakes as well.

  • When I was 4 we lived through the Loma Prieta Earthquake aka 1989 San Francisco Earthquake. We lived in the Santa Cruz Mountains which was hit the worst. My mom and I were home alone and were hiding under the table. I told her to "Sing to Yeshua (Jesus) Mommy!" She looked at me like I was insane, but we sat there for an hour singing Shabbat School songs(Sunday School) while everything around us was falling and breaking.

  • Hurricane Hugo came through the Carolinas on our 4th anniversary. One or two of our trips to the Outer Banks involved hurricanes.

    My favorite grandma's house was hit by a tornado ... not much damage, thank goodness.
