Gash out of my thumb

I was cutting a pine apple last night for the kids snack.
I slipped with the knife and took a gash out of the top of my thumb.
I washed it, but neosporin on it and a bandage.
While cleaning up in the kitchen, I fould the little piece of my flesh that is now missing from my thumb.

What is the best way to help this heal, where there is no skin or flesh to cover and scab?
It does not hurt - just looks gross..

  • Just keep it loosly bandaged. It will heal on it's own. After a week, remove the bandage and lightly dress it. Skin will regrow.

I took the skin off of my pinky knuckle to the point that I could see the bone. In a couple of weeks, it had healed just fine.
