does anyone have any suggestions on a women ministry?

I am starting a women's ministry in my church. We have no fellowship program set up of the women in our church. The men and children are covered but not the women. I belong to a christian church and would just like some seggestions on activites and topics to keep it interesting. Any tips are welcome. Prayer too!

  • You firs really should FAST & PRAY and ask GOD to reveal YOUR spiritual talents.  You cannot have a ministry with out knowing that knowledge. God Bless YOU for the DESIRE He had already placed in you to do HIS service and God Bless you for being obedient to His call...SUGGESTION:  Ask one of the elders' and see what they recommend...My prayers and thoughts are with you...

  • Our church used to have this awesome program called "Wednesdays for Women." It happened Wednesday mornings and there were all kinds of small groups and Bible studies. Then, for the younger preschool/nursery age children they had a program called "Noah's Place." It consisted of very structured activities for the older children that included singing, games, Bible stories, crafts, etc. and just nursery for the younger ones. I LOVED doing this, however it has kind of fizzled because of lack of child care and volunteers to help out with the children's classes. Some of the workers were paid, some were asked as volunteers. Con't....

  • At the beginning of the year we paid an up front fee (I think it was $100 for the first kid, $50 for each additional) to have our kids in Noah's Place and/or Noah's Nursery and this covered the cost of the paid workers. If I were running this ministry, I would increase the cost a little so you have more paid workers and not have to rely so heavily on volunteers. These moms are desperate for some grown up time, and time to focus on God, they do not want to be sucked into an extra day of nursery duty. This was our downfall. I tried very hard to get them to realize this, but it obviously did not help.

  • I've read a couple of AWESOME books about Christian marriage that would be excellent topics for a women's study.

The first could be for men and women, maybe a married couples study group: Love & Respect by Emerson Eggerichs

And: Becoming the Woman Of His Dreams by Sharon Jaynes
