How common are your children's names?

My oldest son's name is Michael and I really thought he would have the "common" name of the family. In the 4 years he's been alive, I FINALLY met another little boy named Michael just the other day at the pool. Every other Michael I know is over 30...It's not nearly as popular anymore.

My youngest son's name is Carson and I really thought he would have a more unique name. Boy was I wrong, I have heard the name Carson quite a few different times, mainly for children his age (1-2 years old) and younger.

How common is your child's name?

  • Not common at all. His name is Bair. I only know a hand full of people who have the name Bear, which is the same pronunciation.

  • My son's name is Gage, and he will be 7 later this year. While I know everyone knows someone named Gage, we don't, and he is the only one in his school with that name (500ish kids).
