I inherited a Nelco I can't find the on/off switch and when I plug it in it starts sewing(needle is going up and down and I can't stop it unless I unplug it. is this supposed to happen? How do I control the needle with no foot pad or way to slow it down and stop it?
I'm not familiar with that brand, but maybe this will help:
There should always be a foot or knee pedle/lever or a foot tredle or hand crank (really old). But the machine should not just go when it gets power. Something is missing and/or broken. I recommend you find a repair shop in your area that is familiar with that brand.
