Keeping cool.

We need to get our A/C fixed. So I am trying to find ways to keep the house a little cooler.

  • hose down the roof before noon(if no watering restrictions are in place). Energy efficient currents will hold cool air in a block the heat form the sun. DO you have an attic fan? Or you can get a smaller industrial fan.

  • Pur dark drapes or blankets or even tin foil on the windows to keep the heat out. Make it like night time in the house.

  • Keeping the sun out will keep it a little cooler, and also you can set a tray of ice cubes in front of a fan so that the air blows across it, and that will help A LOT.

  • Put a fan in the window, it will help bring the outside air in. If you have an attic fan, turn that on. Keep the west facing windows covered, so that the evening sun doesn't shine in!
