How do you make a pinata?

Have you ever made a pinata- was it very hard?

  • Not too hard-google it but it has something to do with blow up a balloon. Cut out strips of newspaper and make a paste of flour and water. Dip the strips of newspaper in your paste and put on the balloon. Cover the balloon with the strips of newspaper until it's covered good. Let dry. Cut a hole out which will obviously pop the balloon but that's ok because it will be hard by then. Fill with candy.

  • We always made them with a wire frame, roughly in the shape of what we wanted, then cover with papier mache

  • My DD and I made a a piñata for her 7th B-day party. I got the instructions we used from Martha Stewart Living -- it was the balloon to paper mache, covered in colorful tissue paper. We made it look like a giant flower, and had a floral theme for her decorations and gifties. Great fun!! GL :-)
