  • No. I would never invade their privacy unless I had a clear, specific reason- grades suddenly dropping, behavioral changes, anything that made me suspect they were involved in something big they shouldn't be. My mom did that to me at 14 with some innocent love letters from a boy & made my life hell. I felt so violated.

  • my son doesn't do that yet, but if he ever would, no i would not read it, that is his diary/journal and they are private thoughts. i wouldn't want anyone to read mine.

  • No. My mom did that to me- she also read my mail- and quite honestly I had serious, serious trust issues with her because of it.

  • I would NEVER read my daughter's special secret thoughts unless she gave me reason to suspect that something was wrong. Then I would talk to her first. Reading her diary would be a last resort. I had this done to me as a child and vowed I would NEVER do it to my child. I plan on keeping that promise!

  • No. Because my mom did that to me, and it sucked.
