I wanted to ask my ? again with out getting a spell check lesson from someone.

The original question was..... Does your 24 month old sense negative people? I know this might sound strange but I dont have a very good family or at least not good enough to call them my family but any time my son gets around my mom, sister, dad he doesnt want any thing to do with them and with my mom he runs to me. Ever so often he will give one of them a hug if I ask him but he just doesnt like them. He will go to the lady I babysit for befor any one in my family. Have any of you experienced this with your child this young? Oh and thanks Tiffany for actually answering my question earlier and to all the other ladies who responded with an answer.

  • I think kids can sense nastyness and evil alot like animals can because they go off instincts more then logic.

  • I've never noticed it my oldest DD loves gma. Her dad is gone most of the day and has more time with me being SAHM and sometimes she won't go to him alllll night but after he spends lets say his days off (Sat. and Sun.) she's just fine and even ignores me which is ok sometimes! We call it Mommy time

  • Yes and no. Keep in mind, kids are very intune with people and you. So if you or daddy are oposed to someone, the little one will pick up on it too.

  • Yeah, I bet he senses YOUR discomfort. I've noticed Lily doesn't take to people I don't take to. Kinda weird, but what a great survival instinct, huh?

  • yeah children that young sence good and bad vibes, they operate on a more nonverbal communication so they pick up on mannorisms, facial expressions, interactions,, they know more than we give credit to them .... yes i would say your child knows if you think they are bad, or if they are mean...( i didnt spell check because i hate spell check natzi's too!! they are losers! )

  • lol AmaliaD, thanks so much for every ones advice. That kind of makes since how they pick up on stuff like that because atleast for my son hes not saying too much right now but just goes off of instinct. My mom and dad werent the best to me and my mom emotionally broke me down when I lived with her so Im not close to her at all but still wish I had a real mom. Im sure every girl wants good parents :) but it doesnt always happen like that. Well thanks again ladies, I appreciate all the feed back. Merry Christmas!!

  • Sometimes, children are just weary of people they don't see all the time. My DD runs from my dad when he comes over at first, but warms up after a little bit. It is very common. Just don't let your family attack her when they come over. Tell them to just let her warm up to them, and try to relax around them. She is probably sensing your anxiety towards your family as well, which may not be helping the situation.
