  • My baby boy and his sibling due in Nov. are distant cousins of mine. Their bio mom has has a rough life and is unable to raise them. They came to live with us through the foster care/kinship care system in our County (Orange Couty, CA). All the adoption process has been through them. We will only need a lawyer at the very end, right before we go to court for final adoption.

  • We adopted through an agency in Akron, OH...same city DD was born in.

The total amount we put toward her adoption was just short of $22K and we were matched with BMom 4 months after we were eligible to adopt.

  • We used Catholic Charities both times. The first adoption was in a diocese in Kansas, and the fees were $5,000, plus our legal expenses. The second time was in a diocese in Iowa, and the agency fees were $10,000, plus we had legal fees. Both times we waited approximately two years after we started having our profile shown. Both kids were born here in the states.
