When did your kids clean their own rooms?

  • My DD is 2 1/2 and cleans her room I still have to help obviously but we do it just about every night before bedtime.

  • They did from the time they could walk until about 10, then they stopped and refused. So I closed the doors to their bedrooms and made it their problem and not mine.

  • Always. Since they were able to pick up a toy and put it in a box, a a shirt in the laundry. Ideally, you don't wait until they are 5 or 9 or 12 to start expecting them to pickup their room. My 5 yr old granddaughter makes her own bed everyday. She began that on her own. She knew every morning after getting ready for school bed gets made and backpack by the door. You start young when they are 'helping' and add a little at a time.

  • They started cleaning up after themselves as soon as they could walk. They started fully cleaning their rooms and making their beds at 3.

  • as soon as my kids could walk we started working on picking their toys up....making their beds....etc
