DVR vs Live

Why don't DVR ratings count (or count the same) as "live viewing" ratings? That seems extremely unfair to many shows and the viewing public who are simply teaking advantage of new technologies...

  • I didn't know they didn't count. Everything I watch is on DVR! I never have the time to watch live tv anymore!

  • I don't know how they count anyway....does anyone know how they do it?

  • I think the industry needs to redo how they do ratings because a lot of people use DVRs and watch at their convenience or watch online now. I know when we had our DVR we were almost always watching one show and taping another to watch later because we loved both shows equally. Which show we actually watched each week changed depending on our mood.
