Were these investments worth the expense?

The transnational railroad & interstate highways were huge federal investments (both made under conservative administrations).

Do you think they were worth it?

  • I think they were. I also think if we were smart we would take the turtle tunnel and marsh mouse money and spend it on our infrastructure.

  • Initially, yes. It's the redundant, wasteful, and bureaucratic spending done under the category of these and other infrastructure projects that have gotten way out of hand. Politicians seized and continue to seize an opportunity to cater to special interest groups whil conning the American people it's for their own good. BS

  • Yes! It's the use of these lines and roads for political gain that has hurt them. Especially the railroads.

  • Absolutely, the interstate system make the entire county accessible to all Americans. It was an incredible thing. It's too bad the conservatives don't think the same about high speed rail. My whole state will be left behind.
