Do you remember being able to ride in the back of a pickup truck legally?

  • yup. I remember riding in the back of an open bed pick up on the highway in Nevada. Speed limit is 75 on the highway in Nevada fyi. At the time it was amazing, now im like wtf was my mom thinking? we still ride in the bed of the truck if we're going out driving in the hills

  • Yes, in some parts of Wyoming yout still can. Unbelievably unsafe!

  • I was born in 1981........ it might have been legal (I am not sure) but my Mom considered it terribly unsafe and would never permit it. Ditto for back of a station wagon, no matter how tired I was.

  • Riding in Pickups. Passengers under 18 may not ride in the back of a pickup or flatbed truck. This now applies in all Nevada counties and on all types of roads. The law does not apply, however, to farming and ranching activity, parades or to camper shells or slide-in campers. (10/01/03 – AB 444 – NRS 484.473) apparently you still can in Nevada, http://motorvehicles.org/nevada/law-on-riding-in-the-back-of-a-pickup-truck
