How can I get a blood stain out of a matress?

It's been there since Thursday night..Any suggestions? I've tried a few things that haven't worked.

  • Equal parts of ammonia, liquid dish soap, and water in a spray bottle will get rid of blood stains, lipstick, cocoa, kool-aid, etc. This stuff works great. The odor is strong. Be prepared to wash that spot on the mattress several times before the odor dissipates. This solution might not work if you have already used other chemicals on the stain.

  • Try regular hand soap and cold water.

  • If the hydogen peroxide doesn't work look in Home Depot or Bed, Bath and Beyond for a carpet stain removal product called Folex (! Stuff works great, we use it in our carpet cleaning business.

  • BURN IT LOL!! Seriously, I used to use a product called Simple Solution, you can buy it at Pet Supermarket. I know, it's for pets, but it works on all "organic" stains. Just follow the directions on the bottle, it's super cheap. No hot water, that will set the stain.
