When using a turkey fryer, should the fryer go on the sidewalk (or similar surface) or should it go in the grass?

My DH and I disagree. He thinks that the flame will burn the grass so we should put it on the sidewalk. I said the grass as a safety precaution. In the grass on top of red bricks. So atleast if it sputtered grease and goodness forbid caught fire the dirt would absorb the oil and be easier to put out. If we put it on the sidewalk and the oil spilled, it would be like pouring water on the floor. The oil would spread and not as easy to contain.

  • It should go on a sidewalk or similar surface. Oil will be absorbed into the rock...where as if it's in the grass it can start a larger fire.
