12 weeks to get my birth certificate!

I need a copy of my birth certificate to get our food stamps. I contacted the office where I was born and they said 12 weeks because of the volume of request!! Holy Crap! So it boils down to 3 more months of no food stamps. Let's just hope DH get this job he applying for!

  • Bright side is maybe they say 12 weeks to cover their behinds in case it does take a long time.

Hit the local food pantry if you are really that tight on cash, sorry.

  • Wow, that's a long time. I was able to walk into my office and walk out not even 20 minutes later with it. And if I was out of state at the time it would have taken 7 to 14 days.

  • Snail mail takes 5-7 days for next states over. Go to the local birth certificate office fill out the forms. They will fax them over and show you paid there and then the other office will mail it the same day or next day
