Anyone given a prescription after giving birth to start your period?

i had my 6 wk checkup today and my dr gave a prescription for provera which he explained is pills u take for like 5 days to bring on ur period so i can then start birth control, anyone ever had or heard of this?

  • If you're breastfeeding it's normal not to have your period. There is no reason you have to have a period before starting birth control after birth. Find a new doctor.

  • I took them after getting off depo and I hadn't had a cycle for a year (AFTER getting off the shot).
    Made me want to eat everything I saw. Seriously, I think I ate half the food in Houston that week
