  • Like the one said before me, to keep your nipples from chapping.
    Also, if the baby is also bottle fed, they feel more like a bottle, and helps them latch better.

  • they are for if your nipples get chapped/blistered, you can wear them so that your bra/shirt doesn't touch them. it hurts like hell if your chapped and they touch you...

  • I used breastshields for about 2 weeks after my last child was born. My nipples cracked so badly they bled. The cream and the shield helped them have time to heal and all was fine after that.
