  • something minty like a candy cane... or my mom used to make jello and give us some while it was completely mixed together and warm that was always our favorite thing when we were sick. It settle the stomach and made you feel full even if we couldn't/hadn't eaten all day.

  • clear liquids-water,jello, 7up, ginger ale ,popcycles, broth, minty is good like above answer-does your baby have a fever? if so, wash baby gently in warm-cool water after bath keep cozy and warm-there is a bad cold-flu going around- -when ready to try again-little drinks at a time-or small bites of jello-when baby holds this you can introduce things like pudding, rice, mashed potatoes-

  • Give small amounts of clears like the pp's said. Don't give any milk until the vomiting has stopped. If he continues to vomit frequently and starts acting very lethargic, doesn't have a wet diaper in more than 6 hours, dry lips... he needs to go in and be seen by a doctor. But if he can drink and keep it down just keep offering small amounts frequently.

  • If he is vomiting....not just spitting up a lot you should not give him anything for at least two hrs. Try coca cola syrup..it is over the counter and you pour it over chipped is and let him sip it slowly. Or gingerale or even a popsicle would be good...if he throws up again wait another two hrs. He is still young enough to put him on pedia lite or pedia lite popsicles..

  • I agree with salexander. If he is STILL vomitting do not give him liquid for two hours, then only small sips. A lot of people force liquids too son on their kids and it creates a viscious cycle of more throwing up.

I agree popsicle, gatorade, flat soda/juice....no milk and plain water usually makes me throw up more.

Then follow with the BRAT diet when he is ready to eat again.

Agreed. When you vomit the enzymes that deal with the milk in your stomach come up too. If you don't have them and drink/eat dairy you will vomit again. When my son was 3 he had a horrid virus with vomiting and .... other stuff. Once the vomiting stopped he ate the BRAT diet for two or three days until his enzymes were built back up.
