Petition for Asia’s Bill
Asia’s Bill is a bill that gives a voice to individuals living with autism whom are non-verbal. Asia’s Bill would make it a law to have surveillance cameras throughout facilities that cater to non-verbal individuals living with autism. Surveillance cameras would provide these individuals with a voice to speak out against unjust crimes committed to them. Too many times, non-verbal individuals living with autism are preyed upon and aren’t able to speak out on the crimes committed to them. Individuals like, Asia, who was a victim of rape and sodomy. Asia is a young, non-verbal woman living with autism who while in the care of a trained professional who was accused of sexually abusing her. Being non-verbal, Asia was unable to tell her story. She did not have a voice to speak out in regards to the accused violation. Had Asia lived in a facility that provided a voice for her with the installation of surveillance cameras, she would have had a voice to speak out. Her accused sexual abuser would not still be allowed to work with other non-verbal individuals living with autism, giving him the ability to accused of abusing another helpless, non-verbal individual. Let your signature be your voice against predators that violate non-verbal individuals living with autism. Let your signature be your voice to make sure Asia does not have to live in fear without having a voice to speak out against someone being accused of preying up on and violating her person. By signing this petition, your signature will serve as your voice asking the courts to make it mandatory for any facility that caters to non-verbal individuals living with autism be equipped with surveillance cameras in all areas to protect and provide them with a voice against mistreatment and violent crimes. By signing this petition you are helping to give Asia and others like her a voice..
