What can I do with my seveteen yr old over the summer on her down time?

because she is seventeen yrs old I try to keep her very active. She loves boys way too much so I have lots of stuff for her to do. But over the summer there are way to many hours of the day to fill what can I do?

  • she should volunteer at an animal shelter or work part time somewhere. you could also send her to be a camp counselor somewhere.

  • Teens who are working (paid or not) have much less idle time to sit around and find trouble. Volunteering looks great for a well rounded kid on college apps. My Mom used to tell my brother "Yes, you are working this summer. It is impossible to get someone pregnant when flipping burgers or mopping floors"..LOL

  • At that age I had both a paying job (year-round, grocery store) and I also volunteered quite a few hours a week at the nursing home, with the activities department (helped residents to the "game room", helped them play games, helped with crafts, etc - it was fun, rewarding, and a good place to spend time.
