  • Don't pop that blister if you can avoid it! That blister of fluid is your body's way of protecting the injured area until new skin can form, and if you pop it too soon, oh will it ever hurt. If you do pop the blister, try not to remove the bit of skin that is left because that is all you'll have to protect the burn until new skin forms. It won't hurt as bad if you can keep that bit of skin on there until it comes off on its own. If you can, cover the burn with a band-aid (not a plastic one, but one that will breathe) or gauze for a couple of days to keep your finger straight to give the burn time to start healing.

  • In my experiances (and I've burned my fingers numerous of times this past holiday season!) it feels so much better to let the puss drain out. Just make sure you have some kind of burn ointment and then cover it with a band aid. Also, you'll want to change the band aid once more to put some neosoprien on it. Hope you feel better!

  • Do NOT pop it. The fluid is sterile. It is NOT puss. This is a normal reaction of the body. The burn will heal just fine - especially one so small.

If the blister is in a place that gets a lot of wear and the blister might pop in the normal course of your day, then and only then, you can pop it. You will need to keep it clean and bandaged until then.

  • next time someone gets burned put mustard on it and let it dry if possible sounds crazy but really works great sounds a little to late for this one though
