How do you add watermarks to pictures?

  • I use a photo editing program and do it myself. I like Paint Shop Pro, but many others prefer Photoshop. Really, you can open the photo in paint and add your text to the photo and it works the same.

  • There are many different approaches to making one, but here's an easy example:

    I use, but any editor that uses Layers will work pretty much the same way.

    1.) Create your watermark in a separate file so that you can copy/paste it easily.
    2.) Make a new top layer for your image and paste your watermark in it.
    3.) After you've got it sized and positioned how you like, adjust the layers opacity (may be called transparency depending on your editor) until it looks the way you want it to.
    4.) Flatten the layers together and VIOLA!  A watermark happy
