Family time

Do you know of a family craft?
Something we could work on together.
My kids are 12 & 11 yrs old.
Or some project to help others?
Thinking of something to do over the summer.
Not a lot of money but want to something for a good cause.

  • Check out local groups... Google it is need be, local charities... here we can make caps/blankets for premie infants

But it is easy to find stuff to help children be productive (positive)

  • can make caps for newborns at the hospital or even blankets, volunteer some where, tutor, penpals, paint ceremics, paint piggy banks, teach them to sew, needepoint, read books at a local hospital to kids or even at a nursing home, bake cookies for a family member or even a local neighbor that would enjoy them, make jams from the summer produce and give as gifts, scrapbooking, help at local ymca, can find summer craft ideas at family fun mag. or website, or even places like michaels, call homes or hospitals and see what is needed.

  • Y'all could go to Jo-anns and find a pattern, the fabric and make a quilt together, then donate it somewhere. Counted Cross stitch is also an idea.

My best suggestion is to wander the aisles of Jo-anns, Michales, or any other craft store and get some ideas.

  • Baking cookies...cheap supplies and kids love them! Helping out having that sense of accomplishment :) Also puzzles...easy fun puzzles that you can use puzzle glue to paste together and frame in the family room or the kids rooms.
