  • Yes. Fifty years ago there was very little advertising oriented towards children. Now the media is full of it as children have more money and more influence in family life. Now known as ' empowerment '.

I also agree with luckyseven . Parenting is largely responsible for indulging children on a scale that would never have been thought of decades ago.

  • yeah...they do. I don't think it's a bad thing though depending on how the parents raise their children. I would rather my child feel entitled than feeling deprived if i had to choose...

  • I think overall, yes. I parent like I was raised, so my kids know they need to earn what they want for themselves, but my students say I am a mean parent for being like that. They demand what they want and their parents jump.

  • absolutely

  • If they do it's only because their parents made them that way.

  • Yes, but parents only need to look at themselves. Children aren't born feeling entitled it is something parents create, not only are so many coddled, parents of todays generation micro manage way to many aspects of their childrens lives. Look back 20 years ago and kids would be out playing, walking to the store...taking some responsibility for themselves and today people are to afraid to let their 10 year old walk up the street to a friends house. Only people to blame is ourselves.
