What can I do for daughters cracked skin on her thumb?

She sucks her thumb and it's cold & dry up here in WI. DD's 17 months old. What can we do to help her poor thumb?

  • Lanolin is used on chapped nipples when we nurse. It can be used on her chapped thumb and it is edible.

  • Thanks for the help. I eventually did call the Dr. They suggested washing it, putting antibotics on it, then the vaseline. Since we figured a way for it to be protected from thumb sucking. (we taped a mitten on her hand) But thanks for the help.
