No T.V?

Did you grow up without television? In what ways was life better?

  • I grew up without TV and never missed it . Never had one until I married and I don't watch it much now . I prefer radio and books to TV .

  • eye rollingmy mom didn't allow us to have a tv until age 10!!!! it was horrible, i think it was very silly of her. it didn't make me a better person..i guess she was trying to protect us from the corruptions of the big bad world.

  • Nope. We had TV but my parents never sprung for cable until about 6 years ago, after we were all out of the house!

  • We did not have a tv until I was in my teens but I never got in the habit of watching it alot.
    Now we do not have a tv in our home and my son never asks about having one.

  • For a period of time, we didn't have a TV and when we did get one, we only got one channel. Cable did not come to where we lived until I was 16. I enjoy reading and passed the time that way.

  • My lids grades were going down last year & disconnect it, told them is call the satellite people. Then report cards came home, we went without tv for six months.
    But its been back one sense, but the contract is up in January & seriously considering turning it off.
    We did mire together, watched movies as a treat.
    I could live without...
