What meds do u take overthe counter before u see the doctor?

I'm lucky enough tos ay my dads a pharmacist so he told me to take caugh med and benadryl for sore and scratchy throat and possible fever if its not gone in a few days ill go to the family dr sorry if this question got posted twice.internet is acting weird,

  • Claritin D, cough med (Robittusin), Benedryl, Zantac, Tylenol or Advil.

  • I rarely go to the Dr for illnesses. Routine checkups are about it for me.

  • The only OTC meds I ever take would be ibuprofin or acetominophen. However, I think most OTC allergy meds are fairly safe. I don't give my kids (or myself) "cold medicines" or anything else.
