  • After a clear count, it's about 0.025%

  • Not sure the statistics, but I know one man who had to have the procedure repeated. His wife ended up preggo after his first vasectomy. And yes, it was his child.

So what are the chances of a vasectomy rejoining after the all clear has been given? This is known as late recanalization, and is in fact very rare. It develops in only about one in 4,000 (0.025%) of vasectomies. It has been known to occur as late as 17 months after vasectomy.

  • It's not very common and it's still a better option than getting your tubes tied which involves surgery.

  • It happens. It's how I got a little brother! If he didn't look exactly like my dad we would have wondered.
