My kids have the same chores everyday- yet they always "forget" to do them.

Anyone have any ideas that would help their memories? They are 15, 13, 11, and 7.

  • I ALWAYS forgot to do my chores. Its not that I was avoiding them at all because I didnt mind them. I would get grounded or get my phone taken away if I forgot repeatedly tho.

  • LOL I think thats normal behavior........I would say something like if you keep forgetting your chores I might keep forgetting to _______insert blank..........something you do for them, eg give your pocket money, take you to the mall, park, get pizza friday night.....

  • do you have a chore list somewhere that's visiable where they look everyday like the fridge? lol! that's what my parents did and it worked for us. YOu could even make it interactive that way it might be more "enjoyable". but yeah it does sound normal! GL mama!

  • That's so right, what you must do is forget something they want to do a few times and just maybe they will remember!

  • I took chores away from mine. Now they just get paid to help around the house. If they dont help and do work then they have no money.

  • I've tried that- no matter where I put it they become "blind" when they go near
