i asked about them a few months ago, before i thought they might bloom, and didn't get any definite i.d. .

  • Yep, it's definitely a gardenia. Does it smell beautiful too? Most have a lovely perfume.

  • That is gardenia. Lucky you! What state do you live in? I live too far north (Missouri) to grow these outside year-round, have to be brought inside for the winter.

  • there are two of them, and so far, only about 6 blooms among both bushes. i can't smell much right now..allergies. i live in NE Arkansas, and they were planted in the garden by the previous owner, i guess..we just moved here in Dec '10.
