? about the Gallup poll posted in a question a few days ago...

This poll shows NoBamas approval rating by active duty military and retired military. However, I was under the impression that the active duty were not to do this sort of thing? Say 'no I do not approve of the CiC'. Am I wrong?
Besides, I'm still baffled by this poll...my hubby knows so many damned people, and none of them were included:(

  • Wouldn't AD members be afraid to participate?

  • Oh, no. Some would not. But, I thought they were not allowed to. I thought it would be speaking out against their CiC, and could get them into a lot of trouble. You know that there is always a chance at getting tagged for participating in these things.

  • my dad (AF) always said he wasnt allowed to talk bad about the president in uniform, but that it was foolish to ever do it.

but if it was an anon poll, maybe they felt safe enough to?

  • Hell if I know. We don't know anyone that participated. I think it's BS, the poll that is. They sure didn't take the poll on post. We had to take down our political sign from our yard on post!

  • When I was an Air Force wife---my EX was an Officer ,in for 21 years, we didn't give opinions on politcs, especially not about the President. In fact as a civilian now, I don't think it is appropriate to rip apart any president. He is our CIC and its best to be civilized and voice your thoughts in a polite way.You don't have to love him but you do have to be respectful of the Presidency.
No--in the Air Force, as active duty members, you just don't say anythng. You VOTE.
