how many words is ok at my sons age to say. my son is only 21 months

  • My son turns 2 in September.....he says alot of words but has older brothers and sisters and we all talk alot! I would say he can say 50 words.

  • I think the "guideline" is 20-50 words or so.

  • about 25-50 words and by 2 they should be able to link two words together "daddy here" "my house" "mommy up" thinks like this

  • I think its about 20 words or more, but don't worry if he isn't talking so much right now. All babies talk at different times

  • At 2 my daughter didn't say much at all now at not quite 4 she talks like an adult and we can't get her to stop!!! Don't worry it will come!

  • My son at 2 said roughly 6 words. His dr. did some other testing (to make sure he wasn't autistic) and determined he just didn't want to talk yet. He was able to communicate with me in other ways. Then one day he woke up and said more words, and more words, etc. Now he's a talking machine and learns at least 1 new word a day.

    If he is not saying a whole lot just make sure his dr. is aware of it- I wouldnt be too concerned at this point though.
