Kinder grad gift for teacher

I am going out today and getting my dd a gift she has Kinder grad tomorrow, but I am also getting a gift for her teacher and their assistant. What would be a good gift? We have a coffee house here like starbucks and I was thinking maybe a gift card? Or something else?

  • My mom taught kindergarten for years. She'd liked gift cards (actually, she liked everything the kids gave her). My brother and I loved the candy and treats sent home. Anything is nice and it doesn't have to be very expensive.

  • The coffee house/Starbucks gift card is a great idea! Also, if your kinder can draw a picture or write a thank you note the teachers would love that too.

  • Gift cards sound great. My sisters kids got their teacher a beach towel with the teachers name on it.

  • A cute coffee mug and a $5-$10 Starbucks giftcard would be plenty, I think.

  • We do gift cards to something like Starbucks, Target, the local Parent-teacher store, Staples or Barnes and Noble. Usually it's something the teacher can use for her or himself or their classroom.

The kids also write a nice note saying what they enjoyed about their year in the classroom. If we had an exceptional teacher, I write a nice letter to the principal expressing our appreciation for a great educator and give the teacher a copy of it. Those letters go in the teacher's employee file. I think it's important to let the boss know when they've got a stellar employee! That reminds me. I have two letters to write this year!!

  • I got body lotions/shower gel from Bath & Body Works. They usually have good deals.

  • I went to a craft store and bought fake flowers and floral tape and pens. My kindergatner wanted to get her teacher flowers, but she didn't want them to die. So we made flower pens. We put them in a vase and made a pretty bouquet with the flower pens. Even thought the pens will probably run out of ink they will still be cute setting on a shelf somewhere. Good luck! I'm sure the teacher will like whatever she receives.
