  • Fluffy, you disgust me. With all the tragedy going on over there I'd only consider a few specific places.. but based on language alone I'd feel much more comfortable with DH by my side since he speaks the language.

  • Are you trying to make apoint about Mexicans who come here and don't speak English? Because visiting a place and living there are totally separate. I would VISIT Mexico not knowing the language well, but if I planned on living the rest of my days there, you can bet I would learn (a lot more) Spanish

  • My friend just came from Mexico. But we think you should read this:
"Recent violent attacks and persistent security concerns
have prompted the U.S. Embassy to urge U.S. citizens
to defer unnecessary travel to certain parts of Mexico,
and to advise U.S. citizens residing or traveling in those
areas to exercise extreme caution. For detailed
information on these areas and the threats involved,
please refer to the Travel Warning for Mexico at"

  • Not because of a language barrier. Just because I do not want to go to that country.

  • Are you thinking of going to a resort? You won't have any language problems with resorts and tourist attractions. If you're planning on renting a car and exploring the wilds, I'd recommend learning some Spanish.

  • I would be very careful about traveling to Mexico. In the past I've been there and I speak limited Spanish.
