Do you think they should get rid of tanning beds all together?

My FIL has one in his house. His is for medical reasons. His psoriasis is so bad he was given one for medical reasons.

  • No. Although I would never use a tanning bed and I think it's idiotic, it's not my body. If someone knows the risks, they should be able to tan if they choose to. They aren't harming anyone but themselves, so it is no one's business but theirs. I do think anyone under 18 should not be allowed to tan.

BTW Your FIL and others who are treating something are not as common, so obviously I am not talking about that.

  • I also agree 100% with JulieJacobKyle. I also think people should have to sign a waiver saying they were explained the risk.

  • No. I think if someone wants to use one and they know the risks they should be allowed. This is a free country still after all.

  • Psoriasis is so miserable, I certainly don't blame him for using it. And honestly so many of the other treatments are just as dangerous, so he should do whatever works for him. I assume he's not doing it to look toasted in a bikini, LOL.

  • Not really but the info is out there on how bad they are. Kind of like smoking. Medical reasons are completely different though.

  • I am right there with you JuliJacobKyle. I agree with your entire comment. FIL hates using it for cancer reasons, but it does help his psoriasis.

  • Yeah poor guy has most of his body covered. He has arthritis directly related to his psoriasis.
