  • pump and dump

  • It depends on what you are smoking . . .

If it is cigarettes . . . I know you said you are not going to do it again, but, if you do . . Make sure you are outside when you are smoking, and change your shirt and wash your hands before you pick up the baby. It is not only the second-hand smoke that is harmful to the babe, but also the smoke residue on your skin and clothes.

If it is marijuana or anything alse .. . .you really should not have that in your system if you are breasfeeding, so please just try to stay away from it.

  • cigarettes? in that case, smoking cigarettes while breastfeeding is supposedly still better than formula. he's getting all the breastmilk nutrients and at the same time building up a tolerance to the toxins in cigarette smoke. in any case, you still need to wash your hands before you touch him after smoking and wear a "smoking jacket" outside that you take off before you come in the house.

  • idk about blanco === weed has been proven safe (though you wont find those studies published and accessable) what is it made of?? can you pump your milk ?? if you are in doubt that it is safe then try to pump and dump - if you dont have the means - just watch her for side effects and dont smoke more till you are done

  • Yes, It is harmful. It passes through to the baby and is detectable in the baby's urine and stools. it makes the baby lethargic, and will decrease your milk supply.

There are studies that show inpairment in reaching motor milestones in the babies of lactating moms who smoke marijuana.

    There should be zero exposure.

At this point, just make sure that you are not smoking it, and that noone is smoking it around your babe . . they can get dosed up just being in the same room where it is smoked.

  • Pumping and dumping does NOT get rid of the "bad milk". The substance has to metabolize out of your body. Our boobs are like a water facet, not a bucket. You should not be smoking anything while you are breastfeeding.

  • *faucet, sorry!!

  • If you can fail a drug test because you have been smoking it, you should not be breastfeeding. MJ stays in your blood for up to a month or so, i dont know about blanco. But if it is like weed, you should really weigh which is more important, breastfeeding or smoking. Simple as that. Better safe than sorry. And if you NEED to smoke, go get some formula.

  • Personally, you've smoked two times and are not going to do it again? I would NOT interrupt nursing for this. I would not want to risk a supply drop or nipple preference over a little bit of marijuana. As far as I know, there are no reports of babies being harmed in any way by drinking the milk of a mother who has THC in her system. You need to weigh the risks yourself to see if you are comfortable with the risks of formula vs the risks of milk that might contain a little THC at the current moment but will not be long term...KWIM?
