Free Prenatal Care in Maryland (Bel Air/White Marsh/Dundalk Area)

My cousin kicked his GF out while she was 14 weeks pregnant and she has nothing. She is now 23 weeks prego and she has a place to live but we are all trying to help her with caring for her babies. She has applied for medical assistance but they keep denying her because she doesnt have her social security card and birth cert. becuase for some reason my cousin is refusing to send them to her. She came up to MD from NC for a weekend visit and when she was here her BF drove up with a friend and took his back down and cleaned out the bank account. He also managed to drop all her clothes off and everything except her BC and SSC. She is having a hard time finding a doctor to take her for prenatal care without medical insurance. She lives in Nottingham but our family lives in edgewood/bel air area so we are looking for any doctor we can take her to that will not charge her or require her ssc or bc. She is 23 weeks pregnant with a 7 month old. When she had her 7 month old he was delivered at 32 weeks becuase of sever preclampsia and she is exhibiting the same symptoms. She also has diabeties( not the kind you get when your prego just reg. diabetes that requires insulin injections) She is need of prenatal care. DOes anyone know of any places that can help us??? And please dont just tell us the hospital becuase we have tried that and they only the do is check the baby's heart beat and do a quick sono but they said they cant help her any further. Thanks so much for the help!!!!

  • well technically i live in nottingham too, 21236... btw she can go down reiserstown plaza (spelling?) & get an ssc & bc with ID & its pretty quick, you get a receipt for the ssc cuz it comes in the mail but she can use the receipt & the BC she gets the day she goes.

  • Thanks a lot. Great info. The health dept will only give her a pregnancy test and the application for medical assistance, which isnt very helpful. We are taking her tomorrow for her BC and SSC. But thanks

  • did you look at the links for free clinics ? or is that whats your talking about when you say health dept. ?

Answer by ZoeyMariah. at 11:42 PM on Jun. 8, 2011

  • I mentioned the health dept. for the first person who commented. And planned parenthood is like a joke(the staff was horribe and did not care at all about her and basically told her see was overreacting becuase we stated she was high risk-which she is) plus they want to charge outrageous amounts for people with no imcome- well atleast the one close to us does we tried there can't afford the 300 bill attached to each visit. At that price I could take her to a regular OB. But I have a looked over the free clinic list and we will be calling those first thing in the morning!! Some of them seem promising. I wish I would have come across that site a few weeks ago!! Thats so much for that one!
