War #4? Is this the reason Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize?

U.S. Is Intensifying a Secret Campaign of Yemen Airstikes

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has intensified the American covert war in Yemen, exploiting a growing power vacuum in the country to strike at militant suspects with armed drones and fighter jets, according to American officials.

The acceleration of the American campaign in recent weeks comes amid a violent conflict in Yemen that has left the government in Sana, a United States ally, struggling to cling to power. Yemeni troops that had been battling militants linked to Al Qaeda in the south have been pulled back to the capital, and American officials see the strikes as one of the few options to keep the militants from consolidating power.

I thought it was because being the great communicator he is, that we would have world peace by now.

  • He got the Nobel Peace Prize because he was a celebrity. And they "hoped" he would "change" the world with his celebrity status.

  • His peace prize is as much of a joke as he is. It was a awarded based on false "hope" and empty promises.

  • His receiving of the award, cheapened the meaning of it. The Nobel Peace Prize used to mean something. A preemptive awarding of it to Obama was the biggest mistake they could possibly make.
Obama is as big a warmonger as Dubyah. Nothing peaceful about him

  • Well, the problem is that you are mistaken on one front OP...It isn't the Nobel PEACE Prize....it is the Nobel PIZZA Prize...you get it based on how many times you eat junk..not just pizza...while your wife is touting a new health plan for others. LOL

I suppose all the bowing and scraping had no effect.

I'll agree with others..the prize no longer has any value..that is sad.

  • Strange. After reading through the article it seems the only think I missed was when he got congressional approval. Or is that a thing of the past? Does he need that anymore or does he just do as he pleases?
