Has anyone applied for foodstamps through the on-line app in CA?

What is the whole process? Do we still have to go in and see a worker? etc

  • I'm in IL, but yes, after you apply online, you get a paper in the mail about an appointment with a caseworker. You go in and bring whatever paperwork needed, then about 2 weeks after that, you get the papers on the services/help you are eligible to receive. That is how IL does it, I think the process has to be close in all states.

  • I'm surprised you could do that on line? You'd have to go in though at some point to provide the endless list of paperwork right?
