1/2 cup butter Crisco
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3-4 medium well mashed bananas (best when blackened)
Mix flour and soda in a sealed bowl. Set aside. Cream together shortening and sugar. Mix in eggs. Add flour mixture to egg mixture (will be slightly dry). Add mashed bananas (will be soupy enough to pour). Pour into two greased glass loaf pans. Bake at 325 degrees or 1 hour or until done through. You can add chopped pecans or walnuts if you like. This recipe is also very good with chocolate chips mixed in.
