103.6* and headache

  • Call your pediatrician. If you don't have one, give tylenol and wait a couple hours and retake temp. If still high, go to the ER.

  • headache can be a sign of dehydration. I normally let a fever run, but I would say, give her some Tylenol and start pumping her full of fluids like gatoraide or pedilite.... I'm sure once you get her up and fluids in her, she will feel better. I would be checking glands and asking her about ear pain. We treat with natural remedies, but if you do not, then you may want to have her checked for an ear infection.

  • Does your child have neck soreness? Try and get your child to put her head down towards chin -if she cannot do this without complaining of pain go to the er-she could have Meningitus or another more serious type of infection/mediccal isue-good luck!

  • I would at minimum, call the nurse line. A headache and a fever is not a good sign on top of the child sleeping all day. Could be a simple infection or if could be something serious. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

  • Motrin and liquids sweets, if the fever doesn't go down, then take her in. Watch for other symptoms like a sore throat. Strep will produce high fevers
