how to wean from swaddling?

I was using a kiddopatomus swaddler with my son, but he's now too big for it. Since I stopped swaddling him he hasn't been sleeping as well. He's very squirmy. Any suggestions? He's almost 5 months.

  • just swaddle him in a blanket, some children need to be swaddled into toddlerhood to sleep well.

  • I agree. Just use a blanket, and when he's ready, he'll start coming out of it on his own.

  • Have you tried a sleep sack?

  • Try leaving one arm out for awhile. Then after he gets comfortable with that, leave both arms out until he doesn't need to be swaddled anymore.
